What is the Christian Therapist
Network? |
|
The Christian Therapists Network (CTN) was launched in 2000 to support Christians who work in the Allied Health Professions (including assistant staff). |

|
Why have a group for Christian
Therapists? |
|
CTN has the following aims:
- To link together Christian Allied Health Professionals through out the UK
- To encourage Allied Health Professionals to integrate their personal beliefs with
their professional practice.
- To increase faith in Christ and the acceptance of his teaching in the
Allied Health Professions.
- To link Christian AHPs with AHP students and support the
work of TSCF (Therapy Students Christian Fellowship)
- To enable Christian AHPs to gain information about mission work
overseas and support Christian AHPs who are involved in mission work.

What are your beliefs? |
|
We believe in God the Father and in God the Son, the Lord Jesus
Christ, Who is our Saviour, and in God the Holy Spirit. We accept the Bible as the supreme
authority in matters of faith and conduct. You can read in more detail what we believe in
our doctrinal basis. |

How is CTN run? |
|
CTN is run by a council of volunteers. All council members are allied health professionals and are elected onto the council for a two year term. Elections occur at the Annual General Meeting in March. Further information about the present CTN council members can be found here. |

|
What is Interact? |
|
Interact is the joint magazine of TSCF and CTN published three
times a year. It contains topical articles, book reviews, news from colleges and
therapists in Britain and abroad, unique opportunities for therapists and much more... |

|
Does anything else
happen? |
|
Yes! Annual Conference. Every year there is a joint TSCF/ CTN conference.
There are a series of talks, seminars and time to worship together. It is also a useful
forum to share ideas and experiences with other Christian Therapists.
Day conferences. From time to time day conferences are held to look at a specific topic in more detail.
Regional groups. Groups are now being set up around the country to bring allied health professions together to pray, discuss and support one another.
Information on overseas opportunities. CTN is keen to encourage allied health professionals who are thinking of working in overseas mission work. An update of specific mission opportunities for allied health professionals is produced regularly.
Healthcare Sunday. CTN works with a number of other Christian Healthcare groups to produce a resource pack for churches to use on "Healthcare Sunday" each year. This years Healthcare Sunday is on 19th October. Further details can be found on the Healthcare Sunday website.
More resources are in the process of being developed. Details will be placed on the website as they become available.

I don't know of any
other Christians at work - can you help? |
|
CTN has members from all around the country
and there are local groups meeting up in many of the regions. If you want to know
other Christian Therapists in the area you can indicate this on the membership form when you join CTN. ALso, if you
indicate that you are happy for us to pass your details on, then others may get in contact
with you! |
|
|
|
What about students? |
|
If you are a student then get involved with TSCF. CTN is closely linked to
TSCF and supports it financially. CTN itself is affiliated to the Universities and
Colleges Christian Fellowship (UCCF) as a professional group. If
you have students coming on placement to your area then volunteer to be a student contact.

Can I help CTN? |
|
Lots of opportunities to get more involved; Pray for
the work, contribute financially, participate in activities and become a student contact.
Get involved with your regional group or if there isnt one, volunteer to help set it
up. Send in ideas of other ways in which you feel CTN could help you. |
