National Weekend Conference for Christians in
Nursing, Midwifery & the Allied Health Professions
Hebron Hall, Cardiff2-4th February 2007
Wisdom
- Common Sense; Good Judgement
- Ability to discern or judge what is true, right or lasting; insight.
Wisdom is an unlikely word to find on a person specification for a healthcare job and yet it is an attribute that many people desire particularly when faced with complex clinical and ethical decisions. As Christians we should not strive to be wise in our own strength but seek as Solomon did for the 'wisdom and knowledge' of God. (2 Chr 1:10)
The main talks at this year's conference will give us an opportunity to explore the wisdom contained in the book of Proverbs and seek to understand how we can apply it to our work practice and working lives. There will also be opportunity to discuss the personal implications of the talks in small groups and to pray for one another. We will be welcoming back Hugh Thomson as our main speaker. Hugh spoke at the 2003 conference and has been asked back due to popular demand!
In addition there will be a large variety of seminars, a bookstall and a resource area with plenty of information about initiatives in the UK and overseas. This is well known as a friendly conference with plenty of times of good food and fellowship and all this will be happening in a well equipped conference centre in the beautiful Vale of Glamorgan!
"Oh the depth of the riches of
the wisdom and knowledge of God!"
Romans 11:33
