Venue:

Dates:
28th - 30th March 2003
"In many respects work is a pain in the neck. It gets in the way of so many
things we could be doing, and can leave us little time or energy to pursue
other interests. And yet work can be good - it can define who we are and
provide us with a social life - as well as pay the bills! But however we feel
about work, there is a common theme that affects us all - it’s called the ‘long
hours culture’. In Britain we work longer hours than anywhere else in
Europe." From "Making life work for you", Work-Life Balance Campaign, in
UNISON Labour Link, Spring 2002, p5.
Here UNISON touches on a number of the issues about work in Britain
today. But what is our attitude to these as Christians? Does work really
define who we are? As students, how can we prepare for the work culture
which exists in healthcare? How can we balance work and/or study with
church and/or CU and the rest of life? How can we serve and glorify God at
work, in study or on placement?
The main talks will seek to address these issues and more.
There will also be:
- Seminars on other subjects related to being a Christian in the AHPs
- A resource area and bookstall with big reductions on relevant books
- The opportunity to have fellowship, worship and share ideas with other
Christian AHP students and professionals.
